FORENSIC NURSES

Our heros

Help us amplify the profound impact of forensic nurses in supporting survivors of violence across the globe by providing specialized healthcare and increasing access to justice.

The IAFN Foundation envisions a world where all patients have access to forensic nursing care. That’s why we are partnering with nurses in Uganda to ensure that every patient who has experienced violence receives trauma-informed healthcare and has increased access to justice.

Expanding Access to Trauma-informed Care, Promoting Healing and Justice

We Are a GLOBAL Organization

The International Association of Forensic Nurses Foundation is a nonprofit organization that advances access to trauma-informed care from highly-specialized nurses in the aftermath of violence.

Violence is pervasive globally and has a lasting, devastating impact on individuals and communities.

We work with nurses and communities to ensure that every survivor of violence around the world has access to a forensic nurse with the skills, resources and training to provide the highest quality care. In doing so, we aim to reduce the short- and long-term impacts of violence.

Forensic nurses are at the forefront of addressing the impacts of violence

Forensic nurses meet the critical healthcare needs of victims of violence through a patient-centered, trauma-informed approach.

Our efforts support increased community safety through evidence collection and, ultimately,  increased prosecution rates.

Forensic nurses treat and connect survivors to additional resources to improve their health outcomes, resulting in reduced healthcare and economic costs of violence.

Critical urgent healthcare

Access to care for immediate physical and mental health needs

Preventing future violence

Increased prosecution via evidence collection and testimony

Improved health outcomes

Connecting survivors to the right long-term care and resources, right away
